30m Water Resistance: Everyday Care for a Leather-Strap Watch

A 30m marking is easy to misunderstand. It does not mean you should take a watch 30 meters underwater. For models in our store listed as everyday splash resistant, treat the rating as a limited daily-use specification and follow the individual product instructions.

What to avoid

Do not use our 30m everyday-splash-resistance models for swimming, diving or showering. Keep them away from hot water, steam and prolonged immersion. Do not operate the crown or side buttons while the watch is wet. A racing-style dial does not turn a watch into equipment for water sports.

The strap needs its own care

A case water-resistance specification does not make a leather strap waterproof. Keep leather away from repeated soaking. If it becomes damp, gently blot it and allow it to dry naturally away from direct heat. Avoid using a hair dryer or placing it on a radiator. Refer to the supplier’s instructions before applying a cleaner or conditioner.

After an everyday splash

Dry the exterior with a soft cloth and check for persistent moisture under the glass. If condensation appears, stop treating the watch as normal and contact support for assessment. Do not open the case yourself in an attempt to dry the movement.
